The school .budget
presented the Board
of Supervisors by the School Board totaled $1,048,030 with the largest portion tagged for instructional purposed. Except for the year and the amount, it would not be possible to tell one year from another—all is the same.
A special use permit was granted William Carrigan, Patrick O’Connell and Reinhardt Lynch by the Town Council of Washington for use of the old elementary school to be used for office purposes, food service facilities, guest quarters and an auditorium for organized groups.
At the annual road hearing citizens were told not to expect any major improvements in county roads for declining gas tax revenues meant drastic reductions in funds allocated for road projects.
