Summons

Funeral services for John Richard Summons of Washington were conducted Wednesday at Promised Land Baptist Church near Washington by the Rev. John R. Pendleton. Burial was in the family cemetery.

Mr. Summons, 83, a retired American Viscose employee, died Saturday, April 19, 1980 while visiting with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Bridget in Alexandria. He was a member of Promised Land Baptist Church. A native of Washington, he was the son of the late John Milton and Lena Fletcher Summons. His wife was the late Eva Tabitha Summons.

He is survived by three sons, John M. Summons, Howard Summons and William Roger Summons, all of Canton, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Edith J. Bridget and Mrs. Ora L. Roy, both of Alexandria; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildreh.
