RCHS refused to be counted out. In the fourth inning, freshman Mike Leake slammed the ball 350 feet over the left field fence for a home run. Timmy Settle followed it up with a triple but the drive ran out of gas. leaving Page with a 15-6 win.
The JV sprang back from the loss in the second game of Saturday’s double header to beat the Cedar Lee Trojans on Monday. The two teams passed the lead back and forth in the opening innings before Rappahannock made it a runaway in the fourth with nine runs.
In the final innings, the junior Panthers played a tightly knit offensive and defensive game to earn the win and bring their season record to four vistories and one defeat.
The next JV game will be against Page at home on Friday.
