Two European teenage girts will meet the people and enjoy the natural beauty of Rappahannock County this summer, thanks to the International Lions Club Youth Exchange program.
Dr. and Mrs. William Young will open their home near Castieton to a girl from Helsinki, Finland, and Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Monahan will host a girl from Copenhagen, Denmark, in their home near Boston, Va. Both girls are expected' to arrive in late June for about five weeks in Rappahannock.
Other host families are also needed to provide homes for other young people expected this summer. Boys and girls aged 16 through 20 are coming to Virginia from their homelands of Belgium, Denmark, Finlafidl and France. Their interests and hobbies range from horseriding to country music and photography. All are proficient in English.
“This is an excellent opportunity to meet some marvelous youngsters from overseas,” said Rappahannock Lions Club president John Schultz.
