Olympics

Youngsters from Rappahannock will participate in the Special Olympics at Fauquier High School on Saturday. April 26.

Opening ceremonies for the games will begin with the traditional lighting of the torch at 9 a.m. Contests will continue through approximately 2:30 p.m.

Contestants in the Special Olympics will be provided with free lunches and tee shirts. Hotdogs and soft drinks will be available for spectators on the grounds.

In case of rain, tune into radio stations WEER or Big K for information froth 7 to 8 a.m. Rain date will be Sunday, April 27, with youngsters leaving at noon for Fauquier from the elementary school parking lot.

Parents who need transportation for their children to compete should contact Ms. Coffey at the elementary school or Ms. Stewart at the high school by Friday morning.
