To the editor:
When I’m traveling through the country, 1 always pick up a local paper which, in a small way, helps me feel the pulse of the local community. Every word interests me, including the classifieds! 1 One can get many pluses and minuses of a community through the local paper.
School Boafd, Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission meetings get a great deal of copy everywhere. I was quite suprised to read that one of your school board members thinks no teacher gains anything from experience after five years of teaching.
On the more positive side, I must comment on your local support of the Community Concert Association. In our inflated economy, I know of nothing that provides so much for so little: $30 for three concerts for an entire family, $12 for an adult, $18 for head of family, $6 for a student. So much for so little! By this summer, one ticket for one musical in New York will be $30.
What a bargain Community Concerts offer, brining professional entertainers on stage to you. A big compliment should go to the individuals in the county who are providing the pupils of your schools this cultural experience.
As you may have suspected, 1 have been a subscriber to Community Concerts for many years and consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity.
My best wishes to all the people in your beautiful county.
