Donald B. Gore, assistant resident engineer at the Dillwyn residency, has been transferred to a similar post at Warrenton, according to the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation.
He succeeds J. O. Fitzgerald who recently retired after 35 years with the department.
Gore, 42, began his highway career at the Warrenton residency as a time clerk in 1959 and was promoted to his present position last November.
He was a construction inspector at Warrenton until advanced to project engineer at Luray in 1974. He also served as project engineer at the Lexington residency in 1976 and 1977 before returning to Luray.
Gore and his wife, the former Doris Ann Dodson, are natives of Sperryville. They have a daughter, Donna, 18. The Warrenton residency
