Nr*« Sf**ci*l I ritrr The Rappahannock County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association held its July meeting on the 17th in the courthouse in Washington. Upwards of twenty members attended.
The first order of business was a report by Emergency Medical Services Council head Gary Rossen on the progress of the committee studying the dispatch problem between Rappahannock and Culpeper counties.
Rossen maintained that a previous article in this paper described the services from Culpeper’s dispatcher as "free”, when in fact each station in Rappahannock pays a yearly fee toward the maintenance of Culpeper’s equipment. (The contribution by local companies was not mentioned at the July supervisor meeting or during any other discussion of the dispatch question.)
Rossen’s study, presented to the Culpeper Office of the Board of Supervisors, and available to the general public, made several recommendations.
