This study was requested over a year ago by the local departments and was carried out by Lynn Miller, Winchester Fire Chief and Gene Darley, a Chief from Fairfax City.
It was stressed that the document, basically just an outline, provides aids to planning the future of the local fire and rescue service, not mandates from the state commission.
Flint Hill was singled out by Thomas for ‘‘doing a fantastic job in their overall preparedness, and cleanliness. They are ready to do the job required of them.”
Communications again led off the line up, with the report concurring with the results of Rossen’s study. “The most important part of any emergency response is the starting point...the dispatcher...The dispatching facilities available for use by the Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue Services are minimal if they exist at all.”
