At a meeting of the town council a year ago, I asked that body to appoint a planning board which would be comprised of members who live within the town of Washington.
I read in the Rappahannock News last week that the mayor and council are still utilizing the county planning board.
I believe that the citizens of Washington are more than capable of performing for themselves this planning function. I again urge the council to appoint its own board from people who know and love this community because they live in it.
