As an alternative to gun control, Durrette proposed increasing the “severity and certainty of punishment” for crimes committed with fire arms.
Also related to criminal justice, Durrette said he favors minimum mandatory sentences for some crimes with no possibility for parole or suspended sentence and uniform sentencing, both opposed by his Democratic opponent.
