Dice And Imagination
Before tackling that enigma, we need to look at the game itself. It begins as players become fictional characters whose strengths are determined by the roll of three six-sided dice. There’s a score for intelligence, strength, wisdom, dexterity, constitution and charisma.
Next, D&Ders match their scores to the class of character they elect to be. They can choose from magic users, rangers, thieves, fighters, paladins, clerics, monks, druids and assassins. Each has special talents enumerated in a handbook. For instance, a magic user is intelligent but not very strong so with a high score in intelligence and a low score in strength, it’s probably a smart move to assume that character.
Each class is bound by certain rules. Paladins, the highest order, and rangers, woodland fighters who are especially gifted as trackers, must always work for lawful good. Other classes may
