Munich has its Octoberfest, Rio its Carnival, New Orleans its Mardi Gras and now Culpeper joins the festival circuit with its first Culpeperfest. Billed as a time to “Celebrate a day in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge.” the festival, set for Sept. 22, will feature an unlimited feast, continuous entertainment and a wide variety of beverages for a single admittance ticket. On the menu of the Chamber of Commerce sponsored event are barbecued beef, Boston butts of pork, french fried sweet potatoes, baked beans and slaw. To aid the digestion there will be continuous entertainment by area bands and a dance troupe. Running from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the festival will be held at scenic Mountain Run L^ke Park about one mile south of Culpeper off U. S. 29.
