I went to meeting that night. After the sermon was over, an invitation was given to those wishing to unite with the church to come forward. I made my way to the seat and was able to tell the church that I felt the Lord had pardoned my sins. I was received by the church and given the right hand of fellowship by the pastor and brethren. 1 went home that night feeling that 1 had done my duty.
My mother was not surprised when William told her I had united with the church. Said she had expected it at all the meetings which very much surprised me. 1 did not think anyone knew my intention; while she had said nothing to me about it. 1 had the united prayers of her and brother William in my behalf.
