Tuesday, August 10 is the first day of practice and tryouts for fall sports. This year three sports will be offered: Girls’ Basketball (Gr. 8-12), Cross Country (boys and girls Gr. 8-12), and Soccer (Gr. 9-12). The schedule for the first day of practice is as follows: —Girls’ Basketball - 9 a.m. (tentative) —Junior Varsity Girls’ Basketball - 6 p.m. —Cross Country - 6 p.m. —Soccer - 6 p.m. (tentative)
Physical examinations are required before students may practice. Girls who did not get their physicals on July 28
Polo Tournament
The Players Cup Tournament will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the Rappahannock field on Route 618. The first teams to play are Middleburg vs. Rappahannock, with luck, if the Rappahannock team wins, they will play their second game on the Mall in D.C., Friday afternoon. Playing on the Rappahannock team will be Chet Fannon, Marcos Bignoli, and two players from North Carolina, Gary Boyce and Bill Douglas.
