drove my sister down to a Spenyville service station to see about a wrecker.
He will be glad to know that we all got back to Fredericksburg safely that night, for my husband met us in Sperryville with his car. The transmission of the Blazer has been repaired, for such was the problem, and we are out there in the hills as often as possible.
We hope to meet our friend again in happier circumstances—and he must drive that route frequently—to thank him properly and in person for coming to our rescue. His time and effort, so freely given, may well have saved our lives.
We must also express our gratitude to the pleasant middle-aged couple who stopped to see if they might be of help, and to the towtruck operator who came so promptly.
