A big green tent pitched on the lot next to the Trailways bus station and Warrenton Auto Service on East Shirley Avenue, Warrenton, will be a mecca for bargain hunters this Saturday as Auctioneer Bernice Pearson cries off the wide variety of articles donated for the benefit of the FORE Workshop for the Handicapped. The offering includes furniture (couches, beds, chairs, breakfast table and chairs, dressing table, sideboard), a settee and chairs in fashionable wicker, an antique table, fire screens, lamps, pictures and frames. Collectors will vie for an antique Singer sewing machine in perfect condition, complete with wooden cover, and there’s an antique mantelpiece.
Browsers will find draperies, baby cribs and playpens, silver, a pendulum clock, kitchen utensils and electric appliances, a set of china and other dishes and glassware, books, oil space heaters, paint, luggage, games, sporting equipment and beautiful jewelry.
A flea mart with tables stocked with treasures and trifles will be run in conjunction with the auction.
