When preaching was over, there was liberty given for experiences and two went forward and joined the church. Just as 1 was in the act of getting up to go, something seemed to say, NOT YET. I sat still and trembled like a leaf. One of the members took hold of my arm and said, “Go up and talk.” I shook my head.
The church soon adjurned, and we started for home. I felt miserably. I felt that I had not done what God required of me. 1 was troubled all night. I went back next day to church, and after the sermon, there was liberty given for experiences. A lady and gentleman went up and united with the church. I made up my mind while they were talking, 1 certainly would go, but it was the same thing over. Something said, “You must not go.” 1 yielded to the temptation.
After the congregation was dismissed, I felt troubled. 1 felt it was the devil that had kept me away. Preaching was given out for the next night at a neighbor’s house near where I lived. I made a vow to God if my life was spared to have another opportunity, 1 would not give away to
