My Favorite Christmas
Heather Coffey, tirade 3, RCES
Christinas is my favorite time. Christmas is when Christ is bom On Christmas we give presents Christmas is Christ’s birthday People make statues of him when he was born People make sculptures of him when he was born And all of the angels sang exultation.
The Christmas Dog
In Mike Connifey's reading lab, the children got together and composed some joint stories. The following was submitted by Melissa Alther. Shanna Clatterbuck, Joyce Craft, James Roy, Melissa Settle, Gary Shank, and Christopher Smoot, third graders at Rappahannock who dictated the story to Connifey.
When 1 woke up Christmas morning, 1 went to the family room. Under, the Christmas tree were twentythree presents. There was a three-wheeler, a Pac-Man cassette, and a thousand dollars. Those were for my little brother. The rest of the presents were for me. But I wanted what my little brother got! 1 told him, “I’ll trade you my stuffed rat for your Pac Man cassette.”
I thought. “Hmmm. He’s not as dumb as I thought.” I told him, I’ll trade you my spinning top - with the silver stars - for your Donkey Kong cassette.” He said, "No. you fool! My Donkey Kong cost more.” I thought. "This will be harder than I thought.” I said, "I’ll trade you my kitty for your thousand dollars.” He said, “Well, I’ll have to think. Hmm. I’ll give you my Pac Man Cassette for a thousand dollars.” I said, “Hmm. That sounds pretty good. Tell you what. I’ll trade you my Lear jet for your three-wheeler.” He said, “Hmm. Let me think about it. I'll trade you my motorcycle for your Olympic-sized swimming pool.” I said, “Yes!" I got what I deserved.
