resulted in a reversed decision and by order of the Circuit Court Newbiil Miller was officially declared the winner. The first count resulted in Clarence Baldwin being declared the winner. 232 votes to 231 for Miller. In the recount, the results were exactly reversed, with 232 votes for Miller to Baldwin’s 231. The Rappahannock News was sold to the Fauquier Publishing Co. of The Plains by Green Publishers. Inc. of Orange.
The Rappahannock Panthers dropped their final two pre-holiday games to William Monroe and Stonewall Jackson by scores of 65-41 and 76-53 respectively.

W. A. MILLER retired
from the position
of Postmaster of Washington. Va., a post in which he served for 31 years. Mr. Miller, an avid fox-hunting fan, instigated the organization of the first hunt club in this county. He was Master of the Rappahannock Hunt until it was discontinued at the beginning of World W ar II. (It has since been reorganized. 1 The Christmas tree in the town of Washington was lighted Sunday night for the holiday season. Mrs. B.R. Armel. a member of the Town Council, was responsible for the decorating of the tree which is located in the lot between the Rappahannock National Bank and the Washington fire house.
