Carolers have long been a town tradition. Sometimes on foot, sometimes in tractordrawn wagons, the singers made their rounds, pausing on comers and under the windows of houses
with sounds of Christmas. "It really meant a lot to the people who couldn’t get out,” Miss Jenkins said.
From earlier holidays, she has more memories of Mr. Frank Jones driving through town in a horse-drawn wicker sleight, bells ajingle, delighting youngsters and older folks alike. "He captured all eyes,” recalled Miss Jenkins.
