Ohrstrom Named

To Meadow Board

George L Ohrstrom, of The Plains, has been elected a new member of the Board of Trustees of the MeadowOutdoors Foundation.

Established earlier this year to permanently preserve in open space a sweeping 240 acre property along nearly 2 miles of Route 17 near The Plains, the Foundation will manage the site as the future home of the Virginia Gold Cup steeplechase races and other events for benefit of community charities.

Ohrstrom, a New York business executive whose permanent home is Whitewood Farm near The Plains, has long been active in community and sporting activities. He is President of the National Sporting Library and of the Orange County Hunt.

Re-elected as Board Chairman at the Foundation’s first Annual Meeting last week was Maximilian Tufts of Warrenton, whose wife, Sally, is Joint Master of the Warrenton Hunt. Others re-elected as Trustees were Allen Olson of Warrenton, and Arthur W. Arundel, The Plains, publisher of the Rappahannock News.
