Overcrowded Bus
In the transportation report. Assistant School Superintendent Gerald Lysik described the problem of overcrowding on one of the buses brought up at November's meeting. Tht Flint Hill - Pullenville - Tigei Valley bus sometimes has ■ many as 70 students, over t legal capacity. Lysik said tha. he had been assured that insurance coverage still applied for the crowded bus and told the board that rerouting students to any of the contiguous bus routes would just transfer the problem.
The most serious overcrowding occurred when children were dropped off at Sursum Corda for afterschool classes. Eastham pointed out. The board agreed that when parents asked for permission for children to ride a different bus home. school adminstrators could refuse when it meant overloading the bus in question.
