Acute Equine Di«rrhoa Syndrome (AEDS) season is fast-approaching, the state veterinanan announces.
Known as “Potomac Fever,” no cases to date have been repMtnd in Virginia, although one mild case occurred in Frederick County, Maryland.
There still if some question of how AEDS spreads, or if it tea new disease. Studies show that horses of all ages, breeds and sexes are effected equally.
The symptoms of AEDS include anorexia, fever, Wucopenia, gastro-intestinal abnormalities and/or diarrhoea. Cases should be reported immediately.
• Looking For Homes
Homes for teenagers from 22 countries now are being sought. The teens will arrive in the United States in August. They are participants in the Youth for Understanding International Exchange (YFU) program.
American families provide food, housing, guidance and companionship. Students provide their own spending money and clothing expenses. YFU covers any medical costs.
