point that I appreciate everything going on here and all sides of the issues, and emphasize that in any event or outcome, what a privilege it is, in this country, to have the freedom to have this controversy at and tell you how humbly honored and grateful I am to be faced with this difficult decision.

I have arrived at my decision by understanding completely where both sides are coming from, and keeping the county’s best interest the paramount objective, as it is this evening.

There are numerous arguments involved here, some emotional, some factual, and even more are a little of each. I feel this is not just a Harris Hollow issue, but an issue involving not only the county, but our Rappahannock heritage. Our fathers and forefathers have closely guarded Rappahannock since 1833.

I am satisfied with the geologic report done for the group-home venture, and feel it was submitted in all good faith. At the same time, the published background data is very scarce, the Washington quadrangle

spending forced the moneymanaging Federal Reserve to bear down far more heavily than it etkmmme would have to avert threatened runaway inflation. Result: disastrously high interest rates, an unnecessarily deep recession and more unemployment than should have been necessary to bring inflation under control.

In time, the Federal Reserve’s painful medicine — its bulldog determination to slow the growth of the country’s money supply — plus the economy’s natural resilience, combined once more to bring inflation under control and turn the economy around, with the resulting decline in unemployment.

Could some reader show how any one nuyor Reagan policy has contributed anything but roadblocks to economic improvement — unless, ironically, one counts the Keynesian pump-priming effect of Reagan’s crushing budget deficits as a phis.

Perhaps it’s time to recognize Reaganomics for what it is — Reaganitis. And the only effective remedy: Reagaaectomy!
