The Child Care and Learning Center, Sursum Corda, will present its fourth annual auction at the Washington Fire Department Building, offering 160 items and services to bid on.
The parade through town is a traditional high point, with fire engines, horses, goats, antique cars and town children on foot and bicycle. The parade assembles at the edge of town on the end of Main Street toward Sperryville.
The Rappahannock Library again is having its annual booksale. The selection of books is wide and varied, and includes cook books, gardening books, popular paperbacks and a few collectors items. Records and magazines also will be for sale. Items will be on sale both outside and in the Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The thrilling hot air balloons will carry people up, up and away if weather permits. The balloon rides will start in late afternoon on the grounds at Avon Hall.
And, if you’ve spent all your money, eaten all you can hold and have absorbed as much culture as possible in one day, stop by and talk to the dairy goats in front of the Centel building. They will look cute free of charge—and may even be receptive to petting.
