“It’s, wrong to start to have commercial (developments) up and down that highway outside the commercial district,” Commissioner Werner Krebser commented.
Commissioner Krebser suggested that a recommendation to approve the application would set a “bad precedent.”
“I think it’s clear what the ftiture should be, but I’m still operating under the old (zoning ordinance)” Commissioner NewbiU Miller said.
Commissioner Krebser then motioned that the commission recommend the application be denied. “We’ll start tampering with the new master plan before we get it,” he said.
No second to the motion came forth; Chairman Stokes asked if there was a substitute motion.
More discussion followed, before Commissioner Krebser moved to recommend denial to the BZA because the structure would not be a garage as specified in the present ordinance, and would conflict with the future comprehensive plan.
Commissioner Charles “Pete” Estes seconded the motion, which passed with one abstention.
