Woodard stresses that the RAA is in great need of more people to volunteer, for as little or as much time as possible. This is a great opportunity for Rappahannock’s young. It’s also a tremendous opportunity, Woodward emphasizes, for adults to help the youth of the county.
Playing fields need to be mowed, teams need to be coached, games need to be umpired and youngsters need to be encouraged and supported, he says.
Woodard says that raffles, f> donations and sponsorship fees are the main financial backbone of the RAA. The children pay a $5.00 registration fee which basically just covers the cost of their hats, which the youngsters may keep.
Current sponsors of the RAA little league are: Sperryville Exxon, W & J Grocery, Hillsdale Grocery and the Rappahannock Lions Club.
