Planning Commission was caught in the middle again, this time in regard to property presently being used conunercially, with its owner paying commercial taxes. 'Die only hang up, according to Zoning Administrator Konick—the property was not shaded in as commercial on the map, which currently is undergoing revision.
Konick suggested the commissioners use their authority to shade it commercial during the revision process.
The problem again was precedent—the property had not been shaded commercial because of a specialuse permit.
Rather than make a quick decision, the commissioners decided to postpone a decision to allow more time to consider the issue.
The Planning Commission then considered another precedent-setter — the Child Care and Learning Center requested permission to build its new facility off Route 211 in Washington within 75 feet of the adjoining landowner’s property line.
Todd Morgan, chairman of the center’s building committee, explained that a variance was necessary to avoid having to build a section of playground in a swampy area.
The adjacent landowner, Morgan said, had no objection to the proposal, which
