Wakefield Soccer Practice Set Prospective varsity and junior varsity soccer players should report at 5 p.m. August 29 at the Wakefield auditorium, according to a press release issued by the school. All athletes should come prepared to practice and should have a certified current physical exam. Ninth graders are eligible to participate on the varsity and J. V. squads. Practice will be from 5-7 p.m. each day as the team works toward the season opener in September.

Chicken & Chitterling Benefit . A chicken and chitterling dinner will be held at the Promise Land Baptist Church on Saturday, August 25 beginning at 3 p.m. Prices are $4.00, in and $4.50 for a carry-out service. Bloodmobile August 29 The Red Cross bloodmobile will be in Washington August 29 at the Washington Baptist Church from 1 to 6 p.m. Sponsored by the Rappahannock Lions Club, the blood-drive goal is 40 pints. People in good health between the ages of 17 and 66 may participate. It won’t take much time to donate: bloodmobile facilities can handle several donors at one time. Summer is a critical time to donate, according to organizers of the bloodmobile visit. It’s the time of year when accidents increase but donations generally decline, both due to the vacation months. “If you are healthy, share your health and give blood this summer,” " Eugene Robson, co-chaisman with Rufus Bain—,eaye> } If concerned about eligibility or for more information, call Mr. Robson at 547-3851 or Mr. Baines at 675-3253.

Jenkins Family Reunion The annual reunion for the relatives and friends of the late Luther G. and Ada F. jenkins will be held at the picnic area of Graves Mountain Lodge at Syria on Sunday, August 26 beginning at 10 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring a picnic lunch, which will be served at 1 p.m.

4-H Organizational Meeting Amissville Community 4-H Club is having an organizational meeting open to everyone regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap or political affliation on Tuesday, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be over by 9 p.m. and will be held four doors from Hackley’s Store on Rt. 211 toward Warrenton at the home of Florence Vickers.
