Meet Lisa: Circus’s
Biggest Star
Real troupers, and a very necessary component of any circus, are the elephants.
No exception to this rule is Lisa, elephant star with Roberts Bros. Circus, which comes to Flint Hill on Wednesday, September 5 for two shows at the carnival grounds. The circus is being sponsored by the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
Rated by her trainer, John Walker, Jr. as one of the most intelligent pachyderms in show business, Lisa performs and gives rides to children before the show and at intermission.
The circus features many new acts in its 1984 edition: ponies, educated dogs, jugglers, acrobats, clowns, trapeze artists and other traditional circus fore.
Performances are scheduled for 6 and 8 p.m., with a colorful midway opening one hour earlier to offer enjoyment of many varied concession stands.
Advance tickets are available from members of the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department at a reduced rate prior to Circus Day.
