JV’8 Win It All
The Rappahannock junior varsity basketball team won the Bull Run District Championship on Saturday, March 2 by defeating Page County, 43-40. See inside page for further details on the win.
• Fighting For Your Life
On March 21, Rappahannock High School’s Honor Society members will fight for your life in an effort to raise money for the American Heart Association. Watch as National Honor Society members face hard core competition from the school faculty in such events as volleyball, indoor soccer, ping pong, obstacle courses, tug of war and tricycle races.
The doors will open at 7 p.m. at the RCHS gymnasium. The minimal donation for entry will be $1.50. Refreshments will be sold. All proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association.
• Slaughter Aid Coming
Representative D. French Slaughter, Jr. will send his assistant, William W. Pifer, to the Rappahannock and Warren Counties areas on Wednesday, March 20.
He will talk with constituents who have problems of a federal nature (such as problems with the Social Security Administration, Department of Labor, Immigration and Naturalization Service, Internal Revenue Service, Office of Personnel Management, etc.)
He will be at the courthouse in Washington from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and at the Front Royal Chamber of Commerce from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
• New Sheds For Sale
The Building Trades Department at Rappahannock High School will have two 8’x 12’ utility sheds for sale to the general public upon their completion. These sheds may be seen behind the RCHS shop between 3:15 p.m. and 5 p.m. March 15 through March 21. The sheds have textured plywood siding, tin roofs, two storm windows and one 4’x 6’ door each. A list of building materials used will be available at the site.
Sealed bids must be submitted to the RCHS school office no later than March 21 at 3:30 p.m. The two highest bidders will be notified March 22. The school reserves the right to reject all bids.
