Samuel B. Fray

Educator

Samuel Browning Fray, 64, of Culpeper, died March 10 in Culpeper after an illness of several months.

Mr. Fray was bom Dec. 7, 1921, son of Jackson L. and Roberta Browning Fray. He was graduated from Woodberry Forest School in 1941 and from the University of Virginia in 1947.

In 1950 he began a 14-year career as master and coach at Woodberry Forest. In 1966 he moved to the Blue Ridge School where he spent four years as a teacher and coach. He was director of development at Grimes Memorial School, Orange, from 1976-78.

Mr. Fray is survived by several rieces and nephews. A brother J. L. Fray Jr. died in 1978.

Graveside services were conducted Wednesday at Culpeper Masonic Cemetery.
