presiding over the evening as king and queen.
During the first part of the evening, the students participated in traditional medieval sporting events. Jousting took place with younger students riding on the shoulders of older students posing as horses, a test of strength was found at the balance beam as students attempted to unseat each other with the aid of a staff and still others practiced walking on a beam while balancing various objects on their fingertips.
The culmination of the evening’s activities was the banquet where the traditional meat pies, fruits, breads and desserts were served while a strolling minstrel serenaded the students.
