William Smoot

William Franklin Smoot, Sr., 65, of Culpeper, died Thursday, March 7 in a Charlottesville hospital.
Mr. Smoot was a native of Rappahannock County and a retired employee of Schewels Furniture. He was a member of the Slate Mills Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Lela Burke Smoot of Culpeper; three children, Donald Smoot, William F. Smoot, Jr., and James Russell Smoot, all of Culpeper; two sisters, Bessie Butler and Nellie Jenkins, both of Culpeper; one brother, Robert J. Smoot of Poolesville, Md. and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday at Moody Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. Nicholus Kim. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
