service, he attended Columbia Institute and received a degree in Mechanical Arts and Drafting. Hertig then began his career in commercial art, and eventually he founded his own company. He has had 18 years of experience in trademark and corporate design, architectural graphics, book design, packaging, promotion and exhibitions.
Hertig developed visual graphics for conferences on national and international levels, and was a graphic design consultant for leading U.S. corporations and institutions. He has worked with the National Cancer Institute, Southern Railways, Reynolds Aluminum, IBM and other major companies.
/ During 1971 and 72, Hertig Went to Vietnam as an artist and while traveling through the country he picked up more culture of the Far East. In 1983, he sold his business and moved to a studio apartment at Blue Hill Farm in Amissville. “The apartment is on the beautiful farm belonging to Mildred S. Fletcher where I can relax and paint the different scenes of the surrounding counties, the hunts and wildlife,” Hertig said.
