Oatlands Plantation Opens

Oatlands Plantation will open the 1985 visitors season on Sunday, March 31, with its annual Loudoun County Day. Puppet shows, hay rides, jazz music, sheep dog herding and craft demonstrations, folk dancing and house and garden tours are some of the activities scheduled to appeal to all ages. If the weather permits, tethered hot air balloon rides will be available at a reasonable price, as will a variety of refreshments. Hours on opening day are 12 to 5 p.m. Loudoun County residents are admitted free. Admission for non-residents is $4, adults; $3, senior adults and youth 7-18; free for children 6 and under. Revival Services Planned

Dr. G. Albert Brown will be the evangelist for revival services April 28 through May 3 at Mt. Salem Baptist Church near Washington. Dr. Brown is pastor of Crossroads Church and the founder and president of Fredericksburg Bible Institute in Fredericksburg. He will be speaking on the second coming of Jesus Christ. The public is invited.

Youth Rally At Gid Brown

A youth rally will be held at Gid Brown Bible Church near Washington on Saturday, March 23 at 6 p.m. Nelson Pettie, pastor of Smithcreek Regular Baptist Church in New Market will be oreaching.

There will be special singing, a nursery will be provided and transportation can be arranged by calling Pastor, John K. Burke at 675-3662. The public is invited.

‘The Country Fair’

The Rappahannock’s Woman’s Club will be presenting its annual fashion show on Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School. This years show will feature fashions from Frank’s and Warren Quality Shop in Front Royal and Jack and Jill in Culpeper.

The show, “The Country Fair” will benefit the club’s annual scholarship and the Women’s Abuse Shelter in Culpeper.

Ticket prices are $2.50 for adults and $1.50 for children in advance; $3 and $2 at the door. Tickets may be purchased from any member.
