Wakefield School in Huntly held its second annual Candlemas Festival this week. Candlemas, a traditional ecclesiastical festival dating from the Middle Ages, celebrates the purification of the Virgin Mary.
Mrs. Pamela Lynn directed the festival which transformed the school’s auditorium into a medieval banquet hall. Costumed students from grades three to 11 participated in the festivities with Sean Bennett of Boston, Virginia and Lisa Larimer of Front Royal
