Mrs. Warren Presgraves accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rathel of Stephens City visited with Mr. Presp-aves at the Shawnee Springs Nursing Home at Winchester on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hickerson visited with Mrs. Hickerson’s sister, Mrs. Martha Jenkins at Etlan on Saturday.

Frank Huff and Ernest Lillard were in Martinsburg on Monday.

Mrs. Mary Martin of Front Royal has been spending a few days with her sister, Mrs. Warren Presgraves.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Crane and granddaughter, Laura Ann Crane of Lanham, Md. were Saturday visitors of Mrs. Crane’s mother, Mrs. Moffett Brady.

Lenten Series

Rappahannock’s annual community Lenten series will continue each Wednesday through March 24.

Parishoners from Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington Baptist Church, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Reynolds Memorial Church and the Rappahannock Charge of the United Methodist Church will gather at Trinity in Washington for a pot-luck supper beginning at 6:15 each Wednesday evening. A program celebrating the Lenten pilgrimage will follow at 7 p.m.

This year’s programs will be centered around the beatitudes as expressed in the lives of great Christians, taught by the Rev. James P. Lincoln.

It promises to be a time of fellowship, fun, worship and celebration. All are invited to bring a dish and share in this community event. A nursery for small children will be provided.
