The Board of Supervisors, during a work session on the 1985-86 county budget June 12, decided to “pursue the idea” of hiring a county administrator. No money, however, was allocated in the 1985-86 budget for the position.
At an earlier work session June 10 the Board postponed discussion of whether to hire a county administrator because of Supervisor Charles K. Estes’ absence. The Board has treated the matter with some urgency because of the affect its decision would have on the ’85-86 budget.
Had the supervisors decided to immediately hire an administrator, that would have forced them to change categories in the budget now devoted to the county clerk and the zoning administrator. By law a county administrator must assume the position of county
