Sam and Cherry Vanneman and their son, Sammy, will be attending Cherry’s father’s 78th birthday, this Sunday in Falls Church. There will be many, good friends and relatives there to wish him well. Cherry and Sam are anticipating a wonderful party for her dad.
Well, Richard and Pat Helmer waved good-by at the airport last Sunday to their 17 year old daughter, Kim, who was flying off to the Philippine Islands to become a foreign exchange student with the Youth for Understanding Organization. She will spend 62 days there, dividing her stay with two different families. The two families both have sons that were foreign exchange students here and were guests in the Helmer’s household. The boys are Victor Lagman and Ricky Abad, with whom many people in Rappahannock County have fond memories.
