RAAC’s efforts to support local artists and bring in cultural opportunities for the schools and the general community.
Artistic Development
RAAC has expanded its activities to include a new wing of the organization called “The Artists’ Forum,” designed to represent the needs of local artists to RAAC. A series of discussions are planned as an outgrowth of the Forum. The topic of the first program, to be held Friday, June 21 at 7 p.m. with a potluck supper in Blackwater Homestead of Boston, will be “The Process of Artistic Development,” led by Sally Nash, choreographer and dancer. The discussion will focus on the following questions; What were you doing 20 years ago? Now? Is there a connection, a through-line you can see? Where do you see yourself going as an artist?
The next meeting will be a feedback session for two artists who will present their work. Jeanne Drevas will lead the discussion of September 13 at the same location.
A third in the series is planned for November 21 on “The Meaning and Function of Art in Society.”
