2. Before periodically approving appropriations (to make the public money actually available to be spent) they should demand and get through the clerk of the Board a detailed break down and explanation of the expenditures which that particular appropriation is supposed to cover. Be it a roof, architects’ fees, salaries or whatever. If they encounter resistance from the clerk from a desire to preserve the present “standard procedure,” they should require her to work out the mechanics with the county treasurer so they get this information. (Now they release the money without knowing where it's going.)
While we commend you for your frankness, “DAMNFINO” just isn’t good enough, gentlemen.
