The United States Achievement Academy announced recently that Skip Giles has been named a 1985 United States National Award winner in History and Government.
This award is a prestigious honor that very few students can ever hope to attain according to a press release. In fact, the Academy recognizes less than 10 percent of all American high school students.
Skip, who attends Rappahannock County Elementary School was nominated for this National Award by Mrs. Nancy Scoggin, a History teacher at the school.
Skip will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook, published nationally.
The Academy selects USAA winners upon the exclusive recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors or other school sponsors and upon the Standards of Selection set forth by the Academy.
