Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Peregory have announced the birth of thenfirst child, a son, Joseph William Peregory, II, on Sept. 26 in Fauquier Hospital. Mrs. Peregory was the former Janet Fay Frazier and is the niece of this writer.
The Salem Garden Club met here with Mrs. C.G. Kling on Sept. 21. Some members were ribbon winners with arrangements and exhibits, and all members participated in a garden quiz of 50 true or false statements. Mrs. W.E.S. Jones was the winner. Mrs. Caroline Thomas was welcomed as a new member. Following the meeting, refreshments were served Mrs. Kling.
Oliver Durant was able to be out on Monday and, with his nurse, took a ride to Rappahannock and visited friends.
Jeffrey Jonathan Peyton underwent leg surgery in Culpeper Memorial Hospital on Monday.
