On Sept. Z8, I he Sons of the American Revolution held a memorial service at the grave of Col. John Suggart Slaughter and placed a marker by his grave at “Clover Hill” in Woodville.
Col. Slaughter’s great-greatgrandchildren who attended the dedication were Mrs. Ann Slaughter Keyser, Mr. and Mrs. Turner Slaughter, )f Front Royal, Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Slaughter, of Leesburg, Mr. and Mrs. Stan McWhalton (Ann Slaughter), of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Mary Ashley Slaughter, of Alexandria, and Mrs. William Collins (Mary P. Slaughter), of Fairfax.
After the ceremony, they gathered for a visit at “The Oaks,” home of Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey H. Keyser.
Mr. and Mrs. Jennings W. Hobson, Jr., of Mechanicsville, were guests Sunday of their son and family, Rev. and Mrs. Jennings Hobson and their son and daughter.
Mrs. Franees Eubank and son, John Eubank, Jr., had lunch in Culpeper on Tuesday at “Country Cookin’.”
Mrs. Sarah Latham and Mrs. Frances Eubank had lunch at Brambles Cafe in town on Thursday.
