My wife sometimes asks me to tell her about my black ancestor. This is a rather strange request since as far as I have been able to discover my ancestry is entirely white. She says the reason she asks me is that I display some of the characteristics of black people in my behavior.
I am not offended by this suggestion. In fact, sometimes I consider it to be a compliment. All races have their strong and their weak points, and within each race the individuals vary from any supposed norm or average by differing amounts. There are white people whom I admire and respect and eiyoy being with, and others which I do not. There are also black people whom I admire and respect and enjoy being with, and others which I do not.
I never had any physical brothere or sisters, but when I was born again by trusting Jesus as my Saviour I immediately gained innumerable spiritual brothers and sisters. Color or race did not and does not affect this at all. A black Christian is as much my brother as a white Christian, and I have infinitely more in common with a black Christian that I do with a white non-Christian.
