Kappahannoek girls basketball coach Joel Voorhees says it is time for his team to turn around its misfortunes.
The Panthers left Tuesday afternoon for three straight district road games just when the team needed to reverse its 1-4 district record, including four consecutive Bull Run losses.
“This could tell the story’," says first-year coach Voorhees of the three-game stretch. If the Panthers cannot start winning district games, “it could be a long way the rest of the season," warns the coach.
Rappahannock was to travel to Stonewall Jackson on Tuesday, then play at Brentsville tonight and at Manassas Park Tuesday.
The Panthers also face Bull Run District foe Page County Oct. 10 at home.
If Rappahannock could play only a non-district schedule, the outlook would be much brighter. The Panthers are 2-0 in their non-district schedule and stood at 3-4 overall heading into. Tuesday game at Stonewall.
But against the Bull Run teams, life hasn t been quite so wonderful.
Rappahannock took a thumping from Strasburg Sept. 24, 79-41, when the team committed more turnovers than was the losing margin. Rappahannock then lost a 53-51
