According to a criminal complaint filed in Rappahannock General District Court, the former Rappahannock County sheriff and his wife were arrested on January 11 for allegedly abducting Page County Commonwealth Attorney John T. Hennessy, his wife Janet Hennessy, and Tammy Good who is a credit officer with the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Stanley.
According to the complaint, the three arrived to repossess a truck on which payment was allegedly in default.
The Rappahannock County School Board decided at an executive session January 23 to continue with their earlier decision to suspend the school bus drivers.
Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins will remain on full pay until the court can determine whether or not they are guilty of abduction, as charged on January 11.
Concerning the School Board decision, School Superintendent Robert Estabrook said, “When the board acts to suspend an employee, part of what is due is a ‘due process of hearing.’ Both of these employees said they wanted due process to express their feelings about the suspension decision of January 13.”
