In another case, Johnny Taylor was found guilty of petty larceny committed on the night of December 31, 1985. During the court session, the charge of grand larceny was amended to petty larceny and the charge of breaking and entering was “nol prossed,” i.e., dropped.
Judge Carson suspended the mandatory jail sentence of 12 months on condition of good behavior during that time and on condition that Mr. Taylor return the stolen goods to the sheriffs office within 30 days, or pay the sheriff the equivalent of their estimated worth of $389.
Former Rappahannock County Sheriff John Walker Jenkins, his wife Alice Jenkins and her son William Hale, who were charged with abduction on January 11, will have their case tried on February 25 in General District Court.
